SpinePuncher and I went to check out the San Diego Status University (SDSU). They gave us an one hour lecture about the school, which primarily focused on fees, fees, fees, and athletics, neither of which SpinePuncher and I give a damn about. Did you know that it costs $200 a year to park there as a student on Monday to Friday, and $450 for daily parking otherwise? You do now, and so do we.
Then we had a walking tour consisting of a junior telling us about the frathouses, the stadiums, and there is a film school somewhere, which is we really cared about. I tried to take pictures while we were in a the fitness center, but the PE lady said to stop it, as it made people feel fat. I thought to myself, shouldn't you people be focused on your studies, fat be damned?
On the way there, we saw a weird tableu of "prairie squirrels" and ducks. Not sure what genetic experiment went wrong, but they were living harmony. Kind of inspiring, actually...see for yourself.
San Diego looks pretty good. Clean. Nice transportation (we nicknamed it 'Trolley Sheen' because it is so damned sexy). Very pretty scenery.
Later this evening, I took Trolley Sheen to the convention center and picked up the badges for tomorrow. The line stretched for blocks, and nerds? Nerdivana. Let me put this way....I was the Keanu Reeves of the group. I tried to convince a group of nerdlings that one gray-bearded old man walking down the street was George Lucas. They said he was too skinny, that George was more pleasingly plump, and was busy re-re-releasing Star Wars "special edition" DVD sets...again. I kept waiting for "BatMan" to show up as I was going to do my Jack Nicholson Joker impression (which surprisingly does not suck).
Looking forward to tomorrow, first day of the show. Gonna get an early, very early start to the day.
Fun in the time of comics.
